Government Arts and Science College for Women, Orathanadu had been started in the year 2006. Earlier, our college was one of the constituent colleges of Bharathidasan University and had been taken over by Government of Tamil Nadu since June 2019. With the combined effort of Government of Tamil Nadu and Bharathidasan University, The college spreads over 33 acres of land. While the college was started on the Birth Anniversary of great Reformer Thanthai Periyar. - 17th September 2006, it functions for the empowerment of girl students especially from rural areas This college was the first constituent college for Women among the constituent Colleges of Tamil Nadu. Our college had also been recognized to receive central assistance in terms of the rules framed under Section 12(B) and 2(F) of the UGC Act 1956.
